Dr. Riley has been the editor-in-chief of the first and leading indexed medical journal in the field of Integrative Medicine, Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine from 1995 through 2004 and was a CONSORT group member from 2000 – 2004. Subsequently he was the editor-in-chief of Explore - The Journal of Science and Healing from 2005 through 2007, another indexed medical journal in Integrative Medicine that he helped found with Reed Elsevier in 2005. Dr. Riley was the co-editor (and an author) for the special issue on Pediatric Integrative Medicine published in 2007 by the Pediatric Clinics of North America and was an editor for the WHO's traditional medicine department from 2003 - 2007. He has written chapters for two medical textbooks and was an editor (and author) of Integrative Medicine – Principles for Practice (McGraw-Hill).
